Online retailers and have informed affiliates that they will no longer be able to sell AT&T handsets and wireless services. In a message sent by Letstalk to its business partners, it explained, “Effective March 8th, 2011, LetsTalk as well as other web indirect agents, including Simplexity (Wirefly), will no longer be able to offer AT&T Wireless as a carrier option to our customers. The primary reasons given for this change in AT&T’s business strategy were centered around AT&T cost savings and retrenchment.” Letstalk and Wirefly often offer savings on new handset prices, as well as deals that include waived activation fees or free accessories. AT&T hasn’t made any announcements regarding the retailer strategy change, nor has it said if any other online retail parters, such as Amazon Mobile, will be affected. (follow link to read)
